As the Fantasy Police kick in my door to burn me for my witchcraft, I present to you: The Gods Blink First.
Wit, former consort of the now dead emperor and victim of a usurper’s coup d’etat, has languished in prison for a decade. Resha, the self-styled “best thief in the world”, springs Wit to aid her crew in robbing the usurper blind. Wit’s fate – and his freedom – hangs on the success of this motley little crew.
None of them truly know what’s at stake. Revolution brews beneath the rot of corruption. The gods are watching, waiting for a worthy champion to appear. Political and religious factions vie for control of the failing empire. The usurper moves to claim the power of the gods and unleash hell itself.
